Mubasher: The third edition of Arabnet Kuwait conference was launched on Monday, 8 October, under the patronage of the commerce and industry minister of Kuwait Khaled Nasser Abdullah Al Roudan, according to an official statement.
With over 1000 of the region’s government leaders, digital practitioners, and entrepreneurs gathered for the third edition of Arabnet Kuwait 2018, Al Roudan focused in his opening speech on the importance of digital transactions and the related trends in trade and economy on an international level.
He highlighted the increase in the volume of total spending in technological and electronic payment that eliminates the traditional way of executing transactions.
Arabnet Kuwait 2018 was sponsored by Boubyan Bank, DMS, Kuwait Finance House (KFH), Kuwaitnet, Al Khaleejiah, and VIVA Kuwait.
Al Roudan stressed that the ministry has received applications issuing licenses electronically at the Kuwait Business Center (KBC) for one-person companies, micro-enterprises last year and mobile vehicles, in addition to regular companies.
“Arabnet Kuwait also featured The Startup Battle competition, where the top 10 startups from Kuwait pitched on stage for the chance to compete against the best in the region at the Startup Championship (for a chance to win $20,000),” the statement said.
