Riyadh – Mubasher: Apple has received regulatory approvals from Saudi authorities that men and women will be allowed to work in the same stores that the company will inaugurate over the coming period in the kingdom, according to a report by the Financial Times.
Apple “has received assurances from authorities that that they would not face prosecution for genders mixing in the workplace,” the newspaper said.
On a separate note, Apple launched its iPhone FaceTime video-calling service in Saudi after the GCC nation lifted its ban on internet calling in 2017.
The FaceTime launch took place before Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman met with Apple’s CEO Tim Cook in the company’s headquarters in Cupertino, California.
Bin Salman met with other officials during his visit to the US including Google, Facebook, Magic Leap, Warner Bros. Entertainment Inc., Walt Disney, Virgin Galactic, and Mojave Air and Space.
