Algeria - Decypha: Algeria’s energy regulatory agency (ALNAFT) intends to offer an oil and gas exploration tender, however, the state prefers to wait for more favorable market conditions, said Sid Al Betata, President of ALNAFT.
Algeria plans to host the North Africa Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (NAPEC) in Oran, Algeria this month.
Betata said that Algeria's hydrocarbon sector was underexploited and the country was planning to intensify efforts in this direction. Apart from the as yet unexplored areas, the reserves earmarked for development need to kickstart operations. He also stated that the reserves that are under development are not being explored to their full potential.
The President of ALNAFT stressed on the importance of partnerships in the efforts of the Algerian Government. NAPEC, according to Betata, will be an excellent opportunity to gauge the interest of industry players. “NAPEC offers an excellent platform to engage in dialogue and exchange information with all major players in the oil industry”, he said.
The 7th edition of the North Africa Petroleum Exhibition & Conferences (NAPEC) is set to bring thousands of oil and gas professionals, industry leaders, and decision makers to the region’s most influential oil and gas event. The event will include multi-disciplinary conferences along with an exhibition area that is set to attract more than 800 exhibitors representing 30 countries.
