Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected EGP 6.8 billion in customs duties, taxes, and charges from Alexandria port during October.
The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Alexandria port stood at EGP 1.84 billion during the 10th month of 2021, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Thursday.
Moreover, the value-added taxes (VAT) imposed on these goods reached EGP 4.95 billion during the month.
The imported goods included strategic goods and general cargo such as yarn, textiles, electric appliances, receivers, plastics, and petroleum products.
The port also exported goods worth EGP 24.063 billion, including sand, juices, cosmetics, and poultry feed.
