Aldar, Dana Gas push ADX lower Sunday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) traded in the red on Sunday, dragged lower by real estate and energy stocks.

By 11:20 am UAE time, the general index slipped 0.10% or 9.5 points to 4,911.18 points, shrugging off analysts' forecasts.

The real estate sector dropped 1.43% after Aldar Properties retreated 1.69% to AED 1.74 and RAK Properties tumbled 1.54%, while the energy sector lost 0.94% after ADNOC Distribution declined 1.72%, while Dana Gas fell 0.87% to AED 1.14.

On the positive side, the insurance sector grew 2.14% on the back of Abu Dhabi National Insurance's 11.43% leap to AED 3.9, while the industrial sector increased 1.36%. The banks sector edged 0.03% higher after Union National bank and First Abu Dhabi Bank (FAB) gained 0.61% and 0.14%, respectively.

Turnover on the ADX amounted to AED 12.93 million after 4.10 million shares were exchanged through 160 transactions.

Last week, UAE stocks added AED 14 billion in market capitalisation, with the Dubai Financial Market (DFM) growing 2.51%, while the ADX added 0.78%.
