Al Seer Marine to expand bulk cargo freight solutions worldwide

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Al Seer Marine, a subsidiary of International Holding Company (IHC), plans to expand its freight solutions for bulk cargoes globally through its unit ASM Chartering.

In line with Al Seer Marine’s growth strategy, the subsidiary would transport between 2 million and 3 million tonnes of bulk cargoes in 2022, according to a press release.

In addition to managing five dry bulk and general cargo ships, the parent company provided an international mining group with freight solutions for around 850,000 metric tonnes of iron ore from the Asia Pacific to East Asia.

Meanwhile, ASM Chartering will focus on delivering freight services across the Middle East region.

Al Seer Marine noted that it entered into negotiations for a long-term deal to handle 2 million tonnes annually.

Guy Neivens, CEO of Al Seer Marine, said: “We have seen a global rise in demand for dry bulk tonne-mile trade with 2021 recording a 3.70% increase, while this year, continued growth is forecast at about 1.40%."

Last June, Al Seer Marine acquired two very huge crude carriers (VLCC) at a total value of AED 404 million to support its expansion plans.
