Riyadh – Mubasher: Al Jouf Agricultural Development Company has announced an update regarding its solar energy purchase agreement with French energy firm Engie, according to a bourse filing.
The project involves an 8-megawatt solar power plant and is expected to be completed during the third quarter (Q3) of 2027.
Al Jouf Agricultural stated that the revised timeline follows its previous announcement on 11 September 2025.
Meanwhile, the delay in the completion date is attributed to ongoing work on contractual, regulatory, and technical procedures.
These include modifying the project scope and relocating the facility to a unified site to ensure integration with future electrical power sources.
The 8-megawatt project is designed to provide power to the company’s industrial complex in the Busaita area, which houses olive oil, pickle, and French fry production plants.
Al Jouf Agricultural is currently finalizing electrical interconnection requirements and technical updates to comply with the standards of relevant authorities.
Moreover, the company confirmed that all necessary approvals from concerned parties are being sought to facilitate the integration with existing energy sources.
