Ain Sokhna collects EGP 3.26bn taxes, customs in October

Cairo – Mubasher: The Egyptian Customs Authority collected about EGP 3.267 billion in taxes, customs duties, and other charges at Ain Sokhna port during October.

The total value of taxes and customs duties collected for imported goods at Ain Sokhna port amounted to EGP 867.970 million last month, according to a statement by the Ministry of Finance on Wednesday.

In addition, the value-added tax (VAT) and other charges imposed on the imported goods at the port stood at EGP 2.399 billion.

The imported goods included wheat, sugar, legumes, maize, components of air conditioners, fridges, fans, fabrics, wood, yarn, mobile phone accessories, and car spare parts.

Moreover, the port exported goods at a total value of EGP 1.648 billion. Charges collected for the exported goods reached EGP 6.404 million.
