Adnoc produces new oil grade; exports to start in November

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: State-owned Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (Adnoc) has produced a new crude grade and is planning to begin its exports in November, initiating a campaign to market it to Asia.

The new grade, Umm Lulu, has an American petroleum institute (API) gravity of 38.7 degrees and comprises 0.7% sulphur, Reuters reported, citing informed sources.

“It is heavier than Murban and Das,” the London-based news agency reported, citing a source familiar with the matter as saying.

Umm Lulu is a blend produced from Adnoc’s Umm Lulu and SARB fields, which is aimed at contributing to the Abu Dhabi oil giant’s targeted 3.5 million barrels by end of 2018, a spokesperson stated.
