UAE - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi's consumer price index (CPI) declined by 2.3% to 107.3 points in October 2020, compared to 109.8 points in the same month of 2019, to remain in the negative territory for the 17th consecutive month.
On a monthly basis, the CPI rose by 0.4% in October 2020, when compared to 106.9 points in September 2020, according to a report by the Statistics Centre − Abu Dhabi (SCAD).
During the January-October period of 2020, the CPI of Abu Dhabi retreated by 2.4%, compared to the year-ago period.
The decline in the CPI in the first ten months of 2020 has led to lower consumer prices in the furnishings and household equipment sector by 4.2% and in the recreation and culture sector by 20.6%.
In addition, the prices of the housing, water, electricity, gas and fuels, transport, as well as miscellaneous goods and services sectors decreased by 3.3%, 6%, and 2.1%, respectively.
