Abu Dhabi's foreign food trade hits AED 7.51bn in 5M

UAE - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi's foreign food trade reached AED 7.51 billion between January and May 2021, according to the latest data of Abu Dhabi Customs, as cited by the Abu Dhabi media office.

Abu Dhabi Customs’ advanced digital infrastructure has facilitated the food trade transactions following the digital transformation of all of the entity's services.

Abu Dhabi recorded around 1.74 million tonnes in the foreign food trade during the first five months of 2021.

The exports and re-exports grew by 11% and 5%, respectively, with animal products and fruit representing Abu Dhabi’s largest categories of exported foodstuffs.

It is noteworthy to mention that during the first quarter (Q1) of 2021, Abu Dhabi's foreign food trade registered about AED 4.66 billion.
