Abu Dhabi partners with France's Sanofi to cooperate in 4 healthcare areas

UAE - Mubasher: The Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) has inked a declaration of collaboration with France's Sanofi, an innovative healthcare company, to strengthen Abu Dhabi's position as a leading life science destination and an innovation hub.

Under the agreement, the DoH and Sanofi will cooperate in developing a clinical research project and patient recruitment protocol, according to a press release on Thursday.

Meanwhile, both entities will create data generation and population research projects for late-stage breast cancer, liquid tumors, and blood disorders and a high-risk population screening project to detect metabolic diseases by deploying Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools.

The Supply Chain Academy will also be launched to provide and enhance knowledge related to the vaccine supply chain.

The Executive Director of the Research and Innovation Centre at the DoH, Asma Al Mannaei, said: "Through international collaborations, Abu Dhabi seeks to lead research groups supported by global partners to explore the resilience and sustainability of the healthcare sector worldwide as well as provide quality care and innovative treatments to patients."

Meanwhile, the MCO Lead and General Manager for Specialty Care Sanofi Greater Gulf, Jean-Paul Scheuer, commented: "We hope our partnership with DoH - Abu Dhabi will address the urgent health issues facing the UAE and positively impact its healthcare sector. We look forward to sharing our expertise and working collaboratively to achieve shared goals, and serve patients, communities, and society at large."
