Abu Dhabi inflation rises 2.7% in 7M

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: Abu Dhabi’s consumer price index (CPI) rose in the first seven months of 2016 by 2.7% year-on-year, according to a recent report issued on Sunday by the Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD).

The report showed a y-o-y rise of 2.3% in the emirate’s July CPI, and an increase of 0.4% compared to June 2016.

The housing, water, electricity and gas group made the biggest contribution of 84% to the rise in the seven-month period as its prices increased by 6.8%, followed by the miscellaneous goods and services group with a stake of 7.7% of total inflation rate with a rise of 3% in the group’s prices.

Prices of the food and beverages group went up by 0.2% y-o-y by the end of July 2015.
