UAE - Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Department of Energy (DoE) has partnered with the 'Youth 4 Sustainability (Y4S)' platform, an initiative launched by Masdar to develop youth's culture of energy efficiency and preservation.
Through the platform, the department seeks to benefit from young, innovative minds to strengthen sustainable environmental practices and build a better future, according to a press release on Tuesday.
As a principal partner, the DoE has been participating in the Y4S platform and Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week (ADSW) since 2019, allowing graduates from the programme to train at its offices in Abu Dhabi.
The department collaborated with the programme, which included 4,500 young people across various activities, by organising thought leadership workshops.
These workshops aim to enable 100 young individuals to become ambassadors for energy and water efficiency.
The Executive Director for Brand and Strategic Initiatives at Masdar, Lamya Fawwaz, said: "The platform provides significant opportunities for training, upskilling, communication, and knowledge exchange between young people and experts."
Meanwhile, Mohammed Al Hadrami from the DoE’s Sustainability and Energy Efficiency Department commented: "The DoE has taken into consideration a project submitted by young participants in a special workshop organised as part of the Y4S Virtual Summer Camp."
