ASE closes Sunday in green on blue chips

Mubasher: The Amman Stock Exchange (ASE) ended Sunday’s trading session in the green zone, as the main index gained 0.56% or 12.12 points and closed at the level of 2,175.63 points.

The main index rose on the back of blue chip stocks, as Arab Bank increased by 0.65% and registered the highest traded value with JOD 596.87, while Jopetrol and Al Eqbal rose 2.02% and 1.69% respectively, the three stocks combined account for around 25% of the main index’s weight.

The services sector grew 0.61%, as Jordan National Shipping Lines added 2.58%.

Similarly, the financial sector rose 0.53% as Bank Al Etihad and Jordan Commercial Bank went up 3% and 0.76% respectively, while United Financial Investments registered the highest traded volume with 274,150 shares.

The industrial sector also increased by 0.38%, as Phosphate Mines led the session’s gainer and surged 7.37%, however, while Arab Potash was the biggest loser and dropped 5.35%.

Total traded volumes decreased to 4.73 million shares from 5.3 million shares in last session, and total traded values also declined to JOD 5.51 million compared to JOD 5.8 million on Thursday.
