ADX sees downtrend at open

Abu Dhabi-Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) opened slightly lower on Sunday, pressured by the real estate and telecom sectors.

The general index lost 0.05% or 2.22 points to reach 4,329.69 points by 11:14am UAE time.

The market saw trading of 13.70 million shares through 239 transactions, with turnover of AED 19.6 million.

The UAE equities will continue to see profit-taking on Sunday and Monday amid the downtrend of oil and global stock markets, analysts earlier told Mubasher.

The real estate sector led losers after falling 0.94%, weighed by Aldar Properties which levelled down 1.12%.

The telecom sector slid 0.55% as Etisalat retreated 0.55%.

On the flipside, the energy sector rose after TAQA added 2.44%.

The banks sector increased 0.29% as First Gulf Bank (FGB) advanced 0.43%.
