ADX rises on blue chips Thursday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Thursday, backed by the rise of telecom and banks sectors.

The general index added 0.98% or 44.13 points to reach 4,568.28 points.

The telecom sector went up 2.17%, backed by Etisalat which rose by 2.17%, rising to its highest price level in five months.

The banks sector increased 0.76% as Bank of Sharjah, Sharjah Islamic Bank, Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB), and First Abu Dhabi Bank went up 4.31%, 1.5%, 1.11%, and 0.95%, respectively.

The real estate sector gained 0.10% after Manazel Real Estate and Aldar Properties went up 1.92% and 0.43%, respectively.

Turnover amounted to AED 131.46 million on Thursday, compared to AED 159.75 million on Wednesday. Trading volume reached 52.21 million shares, compared to 75.87 million shares.

Dana Gas was the most active stock with a trading volume of 15.89 million shares, with a turnover of AED 37.62 million.
