ADX rises amid higher trades Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Monday, amid a noticeable rise in trading volume compared to last Thursday.

The main index added 0.20% or 9.18 points to reach 4,530.84 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 146.58 million on Monday, compared to AED 118.23 million last Thursday. Trading volume reached 72.65 million shares, compared to 58.05 million shares.

The energy sector topped gainers with a 0.89% rise as TAQA added 3.3%.

The banks sector grew 0.72, backed by National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) which climbed 1.4% and Commercial Bank International (CBI) which jumped 10.76%.

On the other hand, the services sector led losers with a 2.76% decline as Abu Dhabi Aviation sank 9.1%.

The real estate sector slid 1.25% after Eshraq Properties tumbled 4.35%.

Eshraq was the most active stock after generating AED 37.22 million from the exchange of 32.8 million shares.

The telecom sector sank 0.28% as Etisalat levelled down 0.28%.
