ADX rises 28 pts Tuesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange’s (ADX) general index gained 27.82 points, or 0.61%, to close at 4,575.16 points on Tuesday, its second successive growth.

The ADX’s trading volume reached 21.27 million shares, while the market’s liquidity hit AED 66.11 million.

The banks sector rose 0.86% after First Abu Dhabi Banks (FAB) went up 1.24% and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) increased by 0.57%.

The telecommunication sector and its only stock, Etisalat, levelled up 0.63% each, while the energy sector inched up 0.08%, as Taqa rose 1.64%.

Meanwhile, the real estate sector lost 0.51% after RAK Properties and Aldar Properties shed 1.52% and 0.48%, respectively.

The ADX is not likely to see active trading in the coming period, mainly in the Muslim holy month of Ramadan, vice president of Investment Research at KAMCO Raed Diab told Mubasher.

However, the market may attract more liquidity later on the back of the UAE cabinet recent decisions in relation to residency and foreign shareholding, Diab said.
