Abu Dhabi - Mubasher: Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) on Thursday announced it has participated as a platinum partner in the third edition of the FinTech Abu Dhabi and as a major partner in the FinTech’s prominent event "Innovation Challenge”.

This event was attended by the most innovative emerging talents and startups to address key challenges faced by corporates, according to a press release.

FinTech Abu Dhabi was hosted in the UAE’s capital from 21 to 23 October 2019 under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hazza bin Zayed Al Nahyan, deputy chairman of the Executive Council of the emirate of Abu Dhabi.

During the event, 16 topics were tackled and displayed with the aim to find innovative solutions to the various challenges facing financial technology for enterprises across the country and the region.

The acting chief executive of the ADX Khalifa Salem Al Mansouri has taken part in a Youth Circles session named “Empowering UAE’s Youth to embrace FinTech Opportunities” on the second day of the event.

During the session, Al Mansouri highlighted the vital role that youth play in promoting digital acceleration programmes in the financial markets that led the ADX to enter active partnerships with scientific institutions and research programmes specialized in the financial and investment sector.

These partnership programmes aim at encouraging the growth of capital markets in the UAE with these young resources, he said.

“The digital acceleration demonstrated by the best and the brightest innovators in start-ups enable sustained financial performance, developing improved market mechanics and information flow and driving growth. ADX was extremely engaged by the impressive and disruptive pioneering solutions presented to solve existing and upcoming challenges,” Al Mansouri added.

It is worth noting that the ADX previously signed a number of memoranda of understanding (MoUs) with academic entities and employs partnerships to further its FinTech, including the Zayed Center of Excellence for Financial Research at the Higher Colleges of Technology (HCT) Abu Dhabi Women’s campus.
