ADX marginally rises at Monday close

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) saw a positive performance on Monday, backed by the rise of energy and telecom sectors.

The general index gained 0.12% or 5.45 points to reach 4,540.24 points.

Trading volume reached 57.83 million shares on Monday, compared to 71 million shares on Sunday. Turnover amounted to AED 155.23 million, compared to AED 112.42 million.

The energy sector went up 1.26% as Dana Gas advanced 1.52%. The telecom sector grew 0.54% after Etisalat climbed 0.54%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector fell 0.11% as RAK Properties went down 1.47%, while Aldar Properties and Eshraq Properties remained stable.

The banks sector retreated 0.08% as Sharjah Islamic Bank and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) slid 4.23% and 0.14%, respectively.

National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) was the value leader after generating AED 47.74 million, while Eshraq Properties was the most active stock with a trading volume of 13.9 million shares.
