ADX loses 13.79 pts Wednesday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) maintained its losses for the fifth session in a row on Wednesday, pressured down by the fall of banks and energy stocks.

The main index sank 0.3% or 13.79 points to reach 4,532.24 points.

Turnover amounted to AED 68.68 million on Wednesday, compared to AED 94.13 million on Tuesday. Trading volume reached 27.75 million shares, compared to 49.34 million shares.

The banks sector fell 0.73% as First Abu Dhabi Bank and Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank (ADCB) retreated 0.9% and 0.27%, respectively.

The energy sector sank 0.46% due to a decline in TAQA by 1.72%.

The consumer staples sector was the worst performer after falling 1.47% as Asmak and Agthia Group levelled down 1.94% and 1.79%, respectively.

On the other hand, the real estate sector was the top gainer with a 0.92% rise as RAK Properties and Aldar Properties increased 3.45% and 0.89%, respectively.

The telecom sector advanced 0.29% after Etisalat went up 0.29%. The telecom operator was the value leader after generating AED 19.71 million, while Manazel Real Estate was the most active stock after trading 8.7 million shares.
