ADX falls 1.2% Monday

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Securities Exchange (ADX) continued its losing streak for the fifth successive session on Monday, amid a decline in leading sectors.

The general index fell 1.22% or 54.11 points to reach 4,382.32 points.

The banks sector decreased 2.10% as First Gulf Bank (FGB) and the National Bank of Abu Dhabi (NBAD) retreated 3.6% and 1.96%, respectively.

The energy sector declined 0.47% after TAQA sank 2.13%. The telecom sector slid 0.28% as Etisalat levelled down 0.28%.

On the other hand, the real estate sector rose 0.13% after Eshraq Properties added 3.5%.

Trading volume reached 158.29 million shares on Monday, compared to 55.02 million shares on Sunday. Turnover amounted to AED 495.3 million, compared to AED 99.75 million.

Eshraq Properties was the value leader and most active stock after generating AED 264.72 million from the exchange of 89.45 million shares.
