ADNOC shows interest to increase investments in Egypt’s oil sector

Cairo – Mubasher: Egypt's Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, Tarek El-Molla, has held a discussion session with the UAE Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and the CEO of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC), Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber.

The session was held on the sideline of El-Molla’s participation in the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) 2022.

Taking place between 31 October to 3 November, ADIPEC 2022 is where the world’s energy ecosystem comes together to explore market trends, source solutions, and conduct business across the industry’s full value chain.

The two parties have reviewed the cooperation opportunities between Egypt’s oil sector and ADNOC, according to an official statement on Wednesday.

Moreover, El-Molla stressed the strong, distinguished economic relations between Egypt and the UAE as well as the bilateral strategic partnership, praising the interest shown by Emirati companies to inject major investments in the Egyptian market in the vital sector of oil and gas.

He further welcomed ADNOC’s move to pump additional investments in the oil sector, especially in the fields of research, production, and petroleum products distribution and marketing.

For his part, UAE’s Al Jaber referred to ADNOC’s interest to expand its footprint in Egypt in the fields of oil and gas research, discovery, and production by partnering with major international oil firms operating in Egypt.
