ADFD financed AED 9bn projects in Morocco to-date

Abu Dhabi – Mubasher: The Abu Dhabi Fund for Development (ADFD) has supported 76 projects worth AED 9 billion in Morocco since 1974, according to a press release on Sunday.

The projects span across diverse sectors, including transport, housing, water, and education. The ADFD also owns shares in a number of Moroccan companies, such as Maroc Telecom, Rebab Company, Société Delma d'Investissements Touristiques (Delma Company), Société Palmeraie Maroc Emirats (Palmare), the statement added.

“At ADFD, we are truly proud of our cooperation with the Moroccan government. Together, we have supported many strategic and sustainable projects that have boosted economic growth and elevated living standards in Morocco,” director general of the ADFD Mohammed Saif Al Suwaidi stated on the occasion of Morocco’s Throne Day on 30 July.

ADFD’s projects include a high-speed train, the Tangier port, the Khroub Dam, housing projects, hospitals, the Trans-Maghreb Motorway Axis, a railway station and a port in Casablanca, and electricity generation projects in several cities.
