Doha – Mubasher: Qatar National Cement Company decided to shut down local cement plant No (1) as of 1 June, 2016, according to a bourse filing released on Sunday.
The plant’s current production capacity is 200,000 tonnes of clinker and about 140,000 tonnes cement per year.
The company’s chairman and managing director, Salem Al Naimi, told Mubasher that the company plans to launch two cement mills to be added to factory No (5) in July.
The Qatar-listed company’s stock declined in today’s early trading by 0.12% to QAR 85.80 ($23.53).
