Mubasher: The Qatar Stock Exchange (QSE) started Monday’s trading session in the red, pressured by the sectors’ massive drop.
By 9:40 am Qatar time, the main index slumped 55.63 points, or 0.53%, to 10,440.48 points.
The bourse’s traded volume hit 2.15 million shares exchanged through 2,170 transactions at a turnover of QAR 30.01 million.
The consumer goods and services sector led losers with 1.17% as Qatari German for Medical Devices’ (QG Medical) stock fell 2.33%, followed Qatar Fuel’s (Woqod) stock with 2.10%.
The industrials sector inched down 0.59% after Qatar Aluminums Manufacturing Company’s (QAMCO) stock slid 1.23%, while the banks and financial services sector edged down 0.56% after the heavyweight Qatar National Bank’s (QNB) stock levelled down 0.75%.
QAMCO’s stock topped the market in both trading volume and value after 2.2 million shares were exchanged at a turnover of QAR 28.7 million.
